In a study published to BMC Urology, physician-scientists led by Channa A. Amarasekera, MD, of Northwestern Medicine Urology, aimed to explore the experiences of gay men with prostate cancer to advance the existing literature and inform clinical practice and policy guidelines. The study found gay men with prostate cancer faced bias in healthcare encounters and had unique concerns compared to men who do not identify as gay.
