THE NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE COMPREHENSIVE COVID-19 CENTER: A PATIENT’S PERSPECTIVE

Featuring: Igor J. Koralnik, MD

COVID-19 remains an ongoing challenge to the medical field as complications of the disease are leading to an increase in demand for both acute and long-term evaluation and management. Northwestern Medicine physicians and scientists, including Igor J. Koralnik, MD, chief of Neuro-infectious Disease and Global Neurology in the Department of Neurology, have been investigating the pathogenic mechanisms of post-COVID-19 conditions known as “long COVID.”  They aim to inform clinical evaluation and management of patients at Northwestern Medicine Comprehensive COVID-19 Center.

This video features a patient who shares his experience with long COVID, including his symptoms, treatment at the Comprehensive COVID-19 Center and outlook on the future.

For more information or for guidelines on treating these patients, download our Clinical Guidelines published in Neurotherapeutics in July 2022.

To refer a patient to the Comprehensive COVID-19 Center, please call 312.695.7950. Dr. Koralnik offers in-person and virtual visits for patients in Illinois. In addition, virtual visits are also available for patients in Florida.
