A 65-year-old male presented to Najib El Tecle, MD, spine surgeon at Northwestern Medicine Center for Spine Health at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, with severe back pain, inability to walk and difficulty standing. After undergoing several spine surgeries at other hospitals, a CT scan revealed that the patient was now fused to his lumbar spine and had a flat back deformity.
