CASE REPORT: TIC DISORDER IN AN ADULT

A 35-year-old patient with a history of generalized anxiety disorder sought evaluation for atypical movements and vocalizations that began in adolescence and carried into adulthood. Initially infrequent and manageable, the tics progressed to a point of interference with daily activities. The movements, including brief jerking movements of the neck and shoulder shrugs, are accompanied by an urge beforehand and a sense of relief afterward. The patient can temporarily suppress these tics but experiences a growing urge to perform them after some time.
