December 2022 CASE REPORT: ROBOTIC LEFT ILEAL URETER TO RECONSTRUCT PAN-URETERAL STRICTURE DISEASE SECONDARY TO IATROGENIC ENDOSCOPIC INJURYA 49-year-old woman with a history of nephrolithiasis experienced a severe pan-ureteral injury during endoscopic surgery for an 8-millimeter ureteral stone. The injury was caused by dilation with a ureteral access sheath when the sheath was not in the ureter. After multiple attempts at stenting from below and no endoscopic access, the patient underwent a nephrostomy tube placement. Then, they were referred to Ziho Lee, MD, at Northwestern Medicine Urology, for surgical counseling and reconstruction. Here, Dr. Lee presents the case.
