Northwestern Medicine celebrates a milestone pulmonary thromboendarterectomy (PTE) procedure, completed by S. Christopher Malaisrie, MD, medical director of Academic Affairs, Division of Cardiac Surgery and professor of Cardiac Surgery at Northwestern Medicine. Dr. Malaisrie, along with Daniel R. Schimmel, MD, MS, and Michael J. Cuttica, MD, have led this multidisciplinary program since its inception six years ago. He also discusses how the excellent clinical outcomes achieved by this program set it apart from other programs.
