HARRIS R. PERLMAN, PHD, JOINS BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR ARTHRITIS NATIONAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION

Harris R. Perlman, PhD, chief of Rheumatology at Northwestern Medicine, joins the board of directors at the Arthritis National Research Foundation (ANRF). The ANRF has been funding arthritis research for over 50 years, aiming to better understand the causes, prevention and development of treatments for arthritis-related diseases. As a member of the board of directors, Dr. Perlman will help guide this research.

Dr. Perlman shapes his career around four central tenants: Strive for excellence, be transformative, remain translational and always collaborate. For over 20 years, he has centered his area of interest on rheumatic disease. Most recently, he has participated as principal investigator of the REASON (Rheumatoid Arthritis Synovial Tissue Network) Study, aiming to bring personalized medicine to patients with rheumatoid arthritis starting on day one of their diagnosis.
