November 2023 NEW NIH GRANT TO STUDY CAREGIVER NETWORKS OF OLDER ADULTS WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASENorthwestern Medicine is set to receive $3.75 million over three years from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to support a new study titled "Measuring Caregiver Networks of Older Adults with Alzheimer's Disease." This grant will facilitate research aimed at measuring the caregiver networks of older adults affected by Alzheimer's disease and will be led by Lee Lindquist, MD, and Michelle Birkett, Ph.D.

Lee Lindquist, MD is the Chief of Geriatrics in the Department of Medicine, George M. Eisenberg Research Professor of Geriatric Medicine, and Professor of Medicine (Geriatrics).
Michelle Birkett, Ph.D is the associate professor in the Department of Medical Social Sciences and directs the CONNECT Complex Systems and Health Disparities Research Program within the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing.
