Misoprostol: Essentials and Best Practices
Misoprostol…the OBGYN’s ubiquitous tool. Misoprostol plays important roles in the management of abortion, pregnancy loss, labor induction and postpartum hemorrhage. The session provides a high-yield synopsis on common scenarios involving misoprostol in the first, second and third trimesters. Session content emphasizes the evidence on dosing regimens, the role of mifepristone and issues of birth equity. Discussion includes the potential impact of mifepristone restriction and comparison of misoprostol-alone and combined mifepristone-misoprostol regimens.​
