CLINICAL INTEGRATION PROPELS OPHTHALMOLOGIC CARE ACROSS CHICAGOLAND

Northwestern Medicine is proud to offer ophthalmologic care throughout Chicagoland. In November, we opened our ninth location, the second new location in 2023. As we continue to expand our care with new sites and services, we are committed to integration across all of our ophthalmology locations to ensure consistency of patient experience, quality and access.
 
As part this clinical integration initiative, we hired a program manager to lead integration efforts. They conducted needs assessments, created integration priorities for the fiscal year, held physician feedback sessions with representatives from every subspecialty, and have started building key dashboards and performance metrics. In early 2024, we will prioritize the creation of a systemwide steering committee. The committee will initiate improvements to our scheduling and triage processes, as well as develop key quality metric reporting. These efforts will support the continued growth and improvement of the care we provide across Chicagoland.
