Amisha Wallia, MD, MS, received one of the American Diabetes Association Health Disparities Committee’s Top 10 Recommended Abstracts Recognition at the American Diabetes Association 83rd Scientific Sessions. Dr. Wallia explores some of the common challenges faced by individuals with diabetes in accessing and utilizing CGM technology in community healthcare settings, including disparities in CGM usage among underserved communities or populations. Wallia’s clinical research is focused on the disease state of diabetes mellitus, with application to high-risk populations, such as solid organ transplant patients. Her research portfolio includes retrospective cohort studies, small and large clinical trials and intervention studies, and quantitative research methods examining patient safety and quality improvement. |
