November 2023 NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE RHEUMATOLOGY WELCOMES GEORGE E. GEORGES, MDGeorge E. Georges, MD, an expert in stem cell transplants for autoimmune disease, has joined Northwestern Medicine as professor of Hematology and Oncology. With Dr. Georges on the team, the Northwestern Medicine Scleroderma Program can offer stem cell transplant as a therapeutic option for patients with scleroderma.
Dr. Georges’ clinical and research interests are hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, graft versus host disease and non-myeloablative transplant regimens. He has published more than 100 manuscripts and has served as primary investigator on NIH grants investigating the development of radiation mitigators for acute radiation syndrome-associated neutropenia and thrombocytopenia. |
