May 2022 DR. LEE LINDQUIST HONORED WITH CHOOSING WISELY® CHAMPION AWARD AND WITH A FACULTY SELECTION BY AMDA Featuring: Lee Lindquist, MD, MPH, MBA
Dr. Lindquist Wins Choosing Wisely® Champions Award The Choosing Wisely® Champions program helps expand the Choosing Wisely® campaign by highlighting stories of people whose leadership in choosing tests and treatments wisely has inspired others to promote high-quality, person-centered care. For the 2022 award, the AGS congratulates Lee A. Lindquist, MD, MPH, MBA, Chief of the Division of Geriatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Lindquist has done extensive work on the dissemination of the Choosing Wisely Geriatrics campaign by educating community-based geriatrician/internists/family practitioners through talks and meetings. Dr. Lindquist reached over 3000 providers during virtual presentations and 700 providers during in-person talks in 2021, and published results of most commonly asked questions by providers during the sessions. Dr. Lindquist also identified through a national survey the gaps in real-world practice utilization of Choosing Wisely Guidelines. She continues to promote the Choosing Wisely® Champions program in role on the EPIC HER (Verona, WI) Geriatrics Advisory Board, where she advocates for Choosing Wisely® guidelines to be used as reference materials. Dr. Lindquist Selected by AMDA to Serve for the Society of PALTC Lee Lindquist, MD, MPH, MBA has been selected to serve as faculty for the Society’s Core Curriculum on Medical Direction in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care course. The goal of this course is to guide participants through critical areas of post-acute and long-term care (PALTC) management and create a comprehensive and cohesive picture of medical direction in PALTC. As a member of the faculty, Dr. Lindquist will play a key role in the continued development, production, and evaluation of the course. Lee Lindquist, MD, MPH, MBA, Northwestern Pepper Center associate director, a Geriatrician and Chief of Geriatrics in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Her patient-centered research focuses on helping older adults age-in-place, when they develop Alzheimer’s disease, through home and community-based resources and supporting caregivers. She has extensive experience partnering in research with community organizations and community members for recruitment, study implementation, data collection, and dissemination.
