NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE UROLOGY WELCOMES HITEN D. PATEL, MD, AND AMANDA X. VO, MD

In 2022, Northwestern Medicine welcomed Hiten D. Patel, MD, and Amanda X. Vo, MD, to the Department of Urology.

Dr. Patel joins as an assistant professor of Urology. He completed urologic residency, medical school and public health training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Then, he completed a Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center.

An expert in the diagnosis and management of prostate, kidney, testicular and bladder cancer, Dr. Patel has participated in systematic reviews that have informed American Urological Association guidelines for the management of these urologic cancers. His specialized research interests include novel diagnostic approaches and optimal surgical management for patients with prostate and kidney cancer. He joined the latest episode of Better Edge podcast to discuss these promising approaches and treatment options for kidney cancer.

Dr. Vo joins as an assistant professor of Urology. Her clinical practice will focus on non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, benign prostate hyperplasia  and kidney stones. Dr. Vo’s academic interests are centered around medical education.
