NAVIGATING VASCULITIS: DIAGNOSIS, TREATMENTS AND RESEARCH

​Anisha B. Dua, MD, sat down with HCP Live to discuss how to navigate vasculitis and its mimics, as well as advances in research and emerging therapeutic options in vasculitis.

In this interview, Dr. Dua discusses the challenges of diagnosing and treating vasculitis. Conditions such as malignancies, infections, collagen vascular diseases and prothrombotic states can mimic vasculitis, requiring a comprehensive evaluation to arrive at an accurate diagnosis.
Dr. Dua also highlights ongoing research and diagnostic challenges, including when to escalate therapy or adopt more aggressive immunosuppression. She emphasizes the need for predicting relapses and intervening early to prevent major damage.
In addition, Dr. Dua covers the recent surge of interest and research in antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies vascularity.
