DREW SPENCER, MD: INAUGURAL RECIPIENT OF THE ST. GEORGE CORPORATION DISTINGUISHED PHYSICIAN AWARD

We are proud to announce that Drew Spencer, MD, chief of Neurosurgery at Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital, has been named one of three inaugural recipients of the St. George Corporation Distinguished Physician Award for his outstanding contributions to the field of neurosurgery.
 
These awards recognize physicians who reach the highest personal and professional achievements in their respective fields and who serve as role models for medical students, residents and attending physicians. As part of this prestigious recognition, Dr. Spencer will receive a three-year appointment and a financial gift to support his groundbreaking work.
 
A graduate of the Neurosurgery Residency Program at Northwestern Medicine, Dr. Spencer joined the Department of Neurosurgery in 2017 and was recruited in 2021 to lead the development of cranial and spinal neurosurgical services at Palos Hospital. His unwavering dedication to patient care has elevated neurosurgery services, and his ability to collaborate across multiple teams has driven innovation and excellence in the field.
