April 2023 OBSTETRIC OUTCOMES IN WOMEN WITH RHEUMATIC DISEASE AND COVID-19 BASED ON VACCINATION STATUSIn a study published in Rheumatology, Eric Ruderman, MD, of Northwestern Medicine Rheumatology, and other investigators found that pregnant women who had not received any COVID-19 vaccine doses and who had rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease (RMD), and COVID-19 had a greater number of preterm births than those who were fully vaccinated. These findings support active promotion of COVID-19 vaccination in women with RMD who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.
