A Northwestern Medicine team received a 2023 Bayer-Prostate Cancer Foundation Health Equity Research Challenge Awards for their project, “Impact of Genetic Ancestry and DNA Methylation on Prostate Cancer in African and African American Patients.” This award is one of three 2023 awards, totaling $600,000, that will support novel health equity research projects that aim to reduce racial and ethnic disparities in the diagnosis and treatment of advanced prostate cancer. The team is led by principal investigator Brian Joyce, PhD. The project’s co-investigators are: Adam Murphy, MD; Mamoudou Maiga, MD, PhD; and Lifang Hou, MD, PhD. The young investigator is Zequn Sun, PhD. |
Brian Joyce, PhD, research assistant professor of Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention at Northwestern Medicine, is the principal investigator of the project.
