August 2025 WELCOME RIDWAN ALAM, MD, TO NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE UROLOGYRidwan Alam, MD, former urologic oncology fellow at Northwestern Medicine, has joined the faculty as assistant professor of Urology.
Dr. Alam earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he also completed a master’s degree in public health. Following medical school, he completed a urology residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and further specialized with a fellowship in minimally invasive urologic oncology at Northwestern Medicine. Dr. Alam’s clinical expertise is centered on the management and surgical treatment of prostate, kidney and adrenal cancers. He is dedicated to employing the latest minimally invasive techniques, including focal therapy and single-port robotic surgery. Dr. Alam has a strong academic background, with over 75 peer-reviewed publications and significant funding from the NIH and the American Urological Association. His research interests include improving cancer detection and treatment efficacy through biomarkers and nuclear imaging, and innovative urologic oncology solutions. |
