Diana K. Bowen, MD
Diana K. Bowen, MD, is an assistant professor of Urology at Northwestern Medicine. Dr. Bowen has a particular interest in reconstructive surgery and the management of complex genitourinary conditions, such as spina bifida and bladder exstrophy. She is actively involved in research, with a focus on clinical and patient-centered outcomes in complex genitourinary surgery. She is dedicated to developing effective transitional care models for patients with chronic urologic conditions. Dr. Bowen’s research has significantly enhanced our understanding of kidney stone disease and minimally invasive surgery. Additionally, Dr. Bowen works to reduce radiation exposure in patients, especially children, by developing new protocols and by using innovative technologies like contrast-enhanced ultrasound. |

Amy E. Krambeck, MD
Amy E. Krambeck, MD, is the chief of Endourology and Stone Disease in the Department of Urology and the Edmund Andrews Professor of Urology at Northwestern Medicine. Dr. Krambeck is a world-renowned leader in the field of urology, specializing in the surgical and medical treatment of stone disease and BPH. With over 300 publications, she has significantly contributed to the field through her extensive research on the pathogenesis of stone disease, the treatment of urolithiasis during pregnancy and the economics of BPH surgery. Dr. Krambeck’s expertise lies in performing minimally invasive procedures, such as holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) for BPH and percutaneous nephrolithotomy for kidney stones. She takes a personalized approach to stone prevention, providing comprehensive metabolic workups and tailored prevention plans to her patients. Recent features: |

Kelly M. Maxwell, MD
Kelly M. Maxwell, MD, is a clinical assistant professor of Urology at Northwestern Medicine. With more than 20 years of experience, she has established herself as a respected leader in her field and former chief of staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Maxwell has expertise in the treatment of kidney disease, kidney removal surgery and various other urological conditions. She has a special interest in the medical and surgical management of stone disease, BPH and bladder cancer. |

Jennifer U. Miles-Thomas, MD
As vice chair of Regional Integration and Innovation and assistant professor of Urology at Northwestern Medicine, Jennifer U. Miles-Thomas, MD, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the organization. With a passion for continuous learning, Dr. Miles-Thomas completed a Master of Business Administration degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2024, with an additional certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and holds board certification in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Miles-Thomas’ leadership skills are exemplified by her tenure as the chief executive officer and president of Urology of Virginia from 2020 to 2023, where she successfully managed one of the largest private and academic urology groups in the United States. She also serves as treasurer of the American Urological Association. She provides specialized care to her patients in female reconstructive surgery, pelvic prolapse, incontinence, complicated urinary disorders and disorders of the urinary system due to neuro-urologic disease.
