WHY CRYOABLATION AND HOLEP WORK TOGETHER

Ashley E. Ross, MD, PhD, and Perry Xu, MD, explain the rationale for pairing cryoablation with holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) in select patients who have both localized prostate cancer and enlarged prostates. They discuss how advances in imaging, biopsy techniques and focal therapy have created new opportunities to treat cancer while preserving urinary and sexual function.
