OPTIMIZING STONE MANAGEMENT WITH FLEXIBLE AND NAVIGABLE SUCTION ACCESS SHEATHS

Amy Krambeck, MD, presents two cases demonstrating the clinical benefits of flexible and navigable suction access sheaths (FANS) in ureteroscopy. Dr. Krambeck reviews the mechanics of suction-enabled access sheaths, including closed-system irrigation, wall suction integration and the Venturi effect, and she highlights how these technologies improve efficiency, visualization and stone clearance.

Through real-world cases, she shows how suction access sheaths can significantly reduce operative time, facilitate removal of small and large stone burdens, and expand treatment options for patients with complex needs, including those who cannot discontinue anticoagulation.
