NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE RHEUMATOLOGY WELCOMES INCOMING FELLOWS

Northwestern Medicine Rheumatology is proud to announce two incoming fellows, Gabriela Martinez Zayas, MD, and Eric Wilson, MD.
Gabriela Martinez Zayas, MD, received her medical degree from Tecnológicode Monterrey Escuela de Medicina in Monterrey, Mexico, and completed her residency at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
"Choosing Northwestern for my Rheumatology training was a very easy choice to make. I was particularly drawn by its academic excellence and by having the opportunity to work with faculty who lead the field and value mentorship. During interview season, I got the sense that fellows were very happy with their program, which was very valuable for me. Having never lived in Chicago, I completely fell in love with this city, with so many fun activities to do and discover all year round. I have found training at Northwestern in the best city to be the perfect combination for my Rheumatology program."
Eric Wilson, MD, received his medical degree from University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor and completed his residency at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
"What drew me most to Northwestern Rheumatology was the sense of community—a faculty of outstanding clinicians and educators who are not only leaders in their fields but also genuinely committed to mentoring fellows. I was looking for a program that combined rigorous clinical training with a supportive environment, and I’ve found exactly that here. Program leadership is approachable, accessible, invested in our success, and they encourage us to pursue our professional passions. Just as importantly, my co-fellows make every day enjoyable, bringing energy and camaraderie to our work together."
