Residency: Saint Louis University School of Medicine

I chose Northwestern Medicine because it felt like the right combination of excellent clinical training, strong mentorship and a genuinely supportive community. The breadth of clinical and research opportunities gives me the chance to explore my interests and continue shaping the kind of rheumatologist I hope to become. Being able to do all of that in Chicago, close to family and in a city I love, made Northwestern Medicine the perfect choice for me.

I chose Northwestern Medicine Rheumatology because, from my interview experience, it felt like a place where I could receive excellent clinical training while being surrounded by supportive faculty who are also leaders in their fields. I was also drawn to the flexibility, opportunities and support to pursue my academic interests. I also appreciated the camaraderie among co-fellows and a genuinely collaborative environment. Having grown up in the Chicago suburbs, the opportunity to return home was very exciting.

Residency: McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University
What really drew me to Northwestern Medicine was the people. Everyone I met was incredibly nice, hardworking and smart — and I really believe that being nice comes first. At the same time, Northwestern Medicine has amazing faculty doing exciting, cutting-edge research and pushing the field of rheumatology forward. I wanted to train somewhere where I could learn from leaders in the field, grow as a clinician and researcher, and still feel supported by the people around me. After being here, I’ve found that the culture I saw during the interview process was exactly what I hoped it would be, and I feel very lucky to be part of this program.
