ADDRESSING THE RHEUMATOLOGY WORKFORCE SHORTAGE

A publication featured in the American College of Rheumatology, co-authored by Brian D. Jaros, MD, and Anisha B. Dua, MD, examines the workforce shortage of rheumatology providers in the U.S. and the role of clinician-educators in addressing this issue.

Dr. Dua and Dr. Jaros highlight the projected shortage of rheumatology providers by 2030, which poses a significant challenge to patient access to rheumatology care, as well as the regional disparities that disproportionately affect rural communities. They propose several solutions that can help alleviate the shortage and ensure the availability of high-quality rheumatology care.
