July 2025 IDENTIFYING CLINICAL RESEARCH PRIORITIES IN INTERVENTIONAL PULMONARYThe Interventional Pulmonology Outcomes Group (IPOG) was established to address the significant gap in methodologically sound research within the field, particularly in lung cancer diagnostics and treatment. Current practices often rely on a limited number of methodologically robust studies, which primarily consist of retrospective, single-center analyses.
As part of IPOG’s work, 19 experts from various disciplines met to identify gaps and barriers, and outline future research needs related to lung cancer diagnostics and therapies. The group established both short- and long-term research priorities for advancing the field. Short-Term Research Priorities
Long-Term Research Priorities
By addressing these identified priorities, the IPOG aims to elevate the standard of research in interventional pulmonology, ultimately benefiting patient care and outcomes in lung cancer treatment. |
