PETER SPORN, MD, RECEIVES SENIOR CLINICIAN SCIENTIST INVESTIGATOR AWARD FROM VA

Pulmonologist Peter H. Sporn, MD, has received the 2026 Senior Clinician Scientist Investigator Award from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This grant recognizes clinician-scientists who provide high-quality clinical care to veterans while conducting research.

The award will support Dr. Sporn’s project “Hypercapnia and Suppression of Antiviral Host Defense," which aims to determine how hypercapnia leads to more and severe infections with influenza virus.
