TRANSFORMING LUNG CANCER CARE: A COLLABORATION TO ADVANCE INNOVATION AND OUTCOMES
Ankit Bharat, MD, executive director and chief of Thoracic Surgery at Northwestern Medicine Canning Thoracic Institute, and Momen Wahidi, MD, medical director and health system director of Interventional Pulmonology at Canning Thoracic Institute, joined consultants from The London Clinic in presenting at the debut of a new international healthcare conference in London, England on November 14, 2025. The conference, Transforming Lung Cancer Care: A Collaboration to Advance Innovation and Outcomes, was the debut of a strategic international healthcare partnership between Canning Thoracic Institute and The London Clinic. This collaboration focused on advancing lung cancer care through shared expertise, technology and training.
In an effort to further strengthen the growing collaboration between Canning Thoracic Institute and The London Clinic, this conference was convened with a particular focus on expanding joint efforts in education, training and the development of coordinated clinical pathways. By bringing together multidisciplinary experts from both institutions, this conference aimed to identify shared priorities, enhance alignment in clinical practice and explore opportunities to elevate patient care through structured partnership.
A major highlight of the event was the depth and quality of knowledge exchange between faculty from both Canning Thoracic Institute and The London Clinic. Sessions featured thoughtful discussions on emerging research, innovative educational models and shared approaches to clinical care. Dialogue underscored the complementary strengths of both organizations and revealed numerous pathways for future collaboration. The insights generated throughout the conference have laid a strong foundation for continued partnership in research, education and clinical care, ultimately supporting a unified vision for improving outcomes in lung health on a global scale.
Designed primarily for pulmonologists, thoracic specialists and general practitioners in the United Kingdom, this event brought together physicians from both The London Clinic and multiple outside institutions.
