ANISH KADAKIA, MD, RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS ENDOWMENT FROM NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY FEINBERG SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine has awarded the Potocsnak Family Professorship of Orthopedic Surgery endowment professorship to Anish R. Kadakia, MD, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of foot and ankle orthopaedics. This honor underscores Dr. Kadakia’s commitment to advancing surgical techniques, patient care and medical education.

Dr. Kadakia leads the Foot and Ankle Division at Northwestern Medicine, which specializes in treating arthritis, traumatic injuries and reconstructive deformities, including ankle replacements and complex revision surgeries. His clinical expertise also includes tendon transfers for foot drop, a procedure that restores mobility and function for patients with nerve damage.

Known for his patient-centered philosophy, Dr. Kadakia emphasizes treating each patient as if they were a member of his own family. His approach integrates a deep understanding of patient concerns with leading-edge orthopaedic solutions, focusing on holistic and compassionate care.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Kadakia is a prolific educator and researcher. He has co-authored over 30 books, lectured internationally and recently accepted the role of co-editor in chief of the Journal of Orthopedic Surgery and Research. He is currently writing a comprehensive surgical guide focused on foot and ankle procedures.

Dr. Kadakia’s influence extends globally — he has served as a guest professor in Chongqing, China, and holds leadership roles in several professional societies, including the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society and the Asia-Pacific Society for Foot and Ankle Surgery. He has also participated in numerous medical missions.  

The Potocsnak Family Professor of Orthopedic Surgery endowment not only celebrates Dr. Kadakia’s achievements but also supports his ongoing mission to elevate the standards of orthopaedic care and education worldwide.
