NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE OPHTHALMOLOGY WELCOMES NEW FACULTY AND STAFF

Daniel Balikov, MD, PhD, vitreoretinal surgeon at Northwestern Medicine Bronzeville Outpatient Center and the medical center, Lavin Pavilion location, received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University, completed his internship and residency at University of Michigan – Kellogg Eye Center, and recently concluded his surgical retina fellowship at University of Miami – Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Olivia Cheng, MD, pediatric specialist at Bronzeville Outpatient Center and Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, received her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University. She completed her internship and residency at William Beaumont Eye Institute, in addition to fellowships in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at McGaw Medical Center/Lurie Children’s Hospital and in oculoplastic surgery at Consultants in Ophthalmic & Facial Plastic Surgery, P.C./Detroit Medical Center
Michael Griess, MD, comprehensive ophthalmologist at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, received his medical degree from University of Nebraska College of Medicine, and he completed his residency and internship at University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Medicine. ​
Jacob Grodsky, MD, surgical retina specialist at Northwestern Medicine Ophthalmology Winfield Town Center, received his medical degree from Louisiana State University, completed his internship and residency at Saint Louis University, and recently concluded his surgical retina fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center.
Christian Hyacinthe, MD, comprehensive ophthalmologist at Bronzeville Outpatient Center, received his medical degree from Duke University and completed his internship and residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University.
Haroon Ismail, MD, comprehensive and refractive ophthalmologist at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Hospital, received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine and completed his residency at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. ​
Megan Chee, OD, optometrist at Northwestern Medicine Grayslake Vision Care Center, received her doctorate in optometry from Illinois College of Optometry and completed her ocular disease residency at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry.
Kathryn Werner, OD, optometrist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital Vision Care Center, received her doctorate in optometry from State University of New York College of Optometry, completed her residency at Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center, completed her internship at SUNY College of Optometry, and she is a fellow of American Academy of Optometry.
Kori Gargano, APRN, DNP, joins as an advanced practice registered nurse, where she will be a part of our Ocular Oncology team at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from University of Vermont.
