FENG YUE, PHD, NAMED ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR FOR AI AND DATA SCIENCE AT LURIE CANCER CENTER

Featuring: Feng Yue, PhD

Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University is excited to announce that Feng Yue, PhD, has been appointed associate director for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

In this newly established role, Dr. Yue will guide, strengthen and expand Lurie Cancer Center's strategic initiatives in AI, machine learning and big data analytics. He will oversee the development of leading-edge data platforms, promote the integration of AI-driven approaches across basic, translational and clinical research, and support the advancement of computational tools that enable discovery and innovation.

Dr. Yue will work closely with institutional leaders, faculty and research teams to build sustainable infrastructures, establish best practices in data governance and foster interdisciplinary collaborations that enhance the impact of AI and data science throughout Lurie Cancer Center.

Dr. Yue’s research group aims to leverage high-throughput genomics, computational modeling and functional assays to understand how genetic variants contribute to the development and progression of cancers. Their work focuses on identifying mutations that disrupt noncoding regulatory elements, such as enhancers, and alter the 3D architecture of the human genome. Ultimately, this research seeks to define cancer-specific and subtype-specific regulatory mechanisms and pathways that may serve as biomarkers or therapeutic targets.
