LYNN YEE, MD, MPH, INDUCTED INTO THE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN PHYSICIANS

Lynn M. Yee, MD, MPH, has been inducted into the Association of American Physicians (AAP), one of the nation’s most prestigious medical honor societies. Dr. Yee’s election reflects her impact as a maternal-fetal medicine physician‑scientist whose work bridges clinical obstetrics and public health.

“It is a privilege to be recognized by the AAP and to be inducted into this distinguished community of physician‑scientists,” says Dr. Yee. “As a maternal‑fetal medicine physician‑scientist, I hope our research on innovative interventions in pregnancy will lead to improved health for pregnant people and their families.”

Advancing Maternal and Postpartum Health
Dr. Yee oversees a comprehensive, multidisciplinary research program with particular emphasis on:
  • Social drivers of maternal health
  • Disparities in obstetric outcomes
  • Patient‑centered outcomes in pregnancy care
  • Health promotion interventions for medically underserved pregnant populations

Her work integrates clinical research, public health approaches and health services research — addressing not only biological risk but also the structural and social contexts that shape maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Leading in Research and in Enhancing Care
A prolific investigator, Dr. Yee has authored more than 300 peer‑reviewed publications and is a leader in numerous multicenter studies that shape contemporary obstetric practice, including The Maternal‑Fetal Medicine Units (MFMU) Network, GO MOMS, nuMoM2b Heart Health Study and more.

In addition to her research contributions, Dr. Yee serves as:
  • Medical director of Northwestern Medicine Women’s Infectious Diseases Program
  • Medical director of the Illinois 24/7 Perinatal HIV Hotline
  • Medical director of the Illinois Perinatal Syphilis Warmline

In these roles, she has been instrumental in improving access to expert care for pregnant patients.
