Epilepsy care is undergoing a transformation driven by breakthroughs in genetics and surgical innovation. Join Northwestern Medicine faculty and other experts as they welcome guest speakers for two days of engaging discussion on the latest developments shaping epilepsy management.

Program Objectives
After attending this educational activity, participants should be able to:
  • Demonstrate the importance of semiology to diagnose paroxysmal disorders.
  • Identify patients who may benefit from epilepsy surgery close to functional cortex.
  • Discuss the risk and benefits of minimally invasive epilepsy surgery compared to a conventional approach.
  • Compare inflammatory and genetic etiologies of epilepsy and novel treatment approaches.
  • Apply evidence-based approaches to complex epilepsy cases through interactive discussion to enhance clinical competence.
  • Integrate knowledge of inflammatory and genetic mechanisms into individualized epilepsy treatment plans.
  • Interpret emerging evidence on inflammatory and genetic mechanisms in epilepsy to inform clinical decisions.
