Roger Stupp, MD, and Adam Sonabend, MD, physician-scientists at Northwestern Medicine, discuss a novel skull-implantable ultrasound device used to open the blood-brain barrier to deliver immunotherapy and chemotherapy for glioblastoma treatment. The results of the first in-human clinical trial showed a remarkable four- to six-fold increase in drug concentrations in the brain, indicating that it may revolutionize the treatment of neurological diseases.

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) significantly decreased fatigue interference and improved quality of life in patients with metastatic breast cancer six months after treatment, according to recent findings published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology.
