NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE GERIATRICS
The Northwestern Medicine Geriatrics Department is devoted to delivering holistic, patient-focused care and conducting clinical research that addresses the complex health challenges faced by older adults, encompassing physical, emotional and social aspects.

We host a Claude D. Pepper Older American Independence Center, one of only 14 in the U.S., focusing on aging research. We consolidate research from across Northwestern Medicine to enhance primary care for older adults with multiple health conditions. The center also educates researchers in aging and geriatric science to advance this mission.

Our Geriatrics Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital is ranked No. 9 by U.S. News & World Report, 2025 – 2026. We constantly broaden our extensive array of services, which includes home care, outpatient and inpatient services, consultation, primary care, supportive living, skilled nursing care and long-term care.
