I’m thrilled to be joining the Northwestern Medicine community for endocrinology fellowship this year. I grew up along the east coast in Savannah, Georgia, and attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia. There I became interested in endocrinology for its combination of managing complex disorders and providing longitudinal patient care. I then completed my internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia, which further strengthened my passion for endocrinology and for medical education. In my free time, I enjoy arts and crafts, spending time outdoors, cooking and trying out new restaurants. I’m excited to continue my training at Northwestern Medicine and to gain experience across all areas of endocrinology while building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients. Lena Ayari, MD I am thrilled to be starting my endocrinology fellowship at Northwestern Medicine and to continue my journey in a field I find to be fascinating and deeply rewarding. I completed my medical school training at Texas A&M and residency at the Mayo Clinic. My passion for endocrinology grew during residency, as it was my favorite clinical rotation and I was able to experience the complexity and nuance central to endocrine care. Outside of medicine, I like to unwind with a good book, go for long outdoor walks, and spend time on creative activities such as baking and crochet! |
