47TH ANNUAL ECHO NORTHWESTERN: INNOVATIONS IN ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY FOR VALVULAR HEART DISEASE

The 47th Annual Echo Northwestern, the longest-running echo CME event in the United States, is a comprehensive conference on valvular heart disease, featuring expert-led sessions on the aortic, mitral, tricuspid and pulmonic valves.
As an attendee, you’ll gain insights through case presentations, lectures, live imaging demonstrations and panel discussions.
This year’s conference will take place on Saturday, November 1, from 8:30 am to 3:15 pm at Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Accreditation Statement
The Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation Statement
The Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Board of Internal Medicine
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation
component, enables the participant to earn up to 5 MOC points in the
American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is
the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME
for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Learning Objectives
  • Analyze echocardiographic modalities, such as transthoracic, transesophageal, and 3D echocardiography, to improve diagnostic accuracy and guide procedural planning.
  • Apply echocardiographic findings to multidisciplinary care approaches, integrating results into treatment strategies and collaborative team discussions for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate post-procedural outcomes using echocardiography to assess valve function, procedural success, and complications, identifying areas for improvement in care delivery.
  • Cite current evidence-based guidelines for the use of echocardiography in the diagnosis and management of valvular heart disease to enhance clinical decision-making.
  • Adapt advanced echocardiographic techniques, such as strain imaging and 3D reconstruction, to tailor individualized treatment plans for patients with complex valvular conditions.
