NORTHWESTERN MEDICINE EXPERTS AT THE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN HEALTHCARE SYMPOSIUM

Featuring: Sanjiv J. Shah, MD, and Adrienne Kline, MD, PhD
As the healthcare industry undergoes a significant transformation with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, it is crucial for clinicians to understand the potential these technologies have to transform healthcare delivery, from diagnostic imaging and predictive analytics to personalized treatment plans and operational efficiencies.

Northwestern Medicine experts are shaping how AI is responsibly deployed in healthcare through events like the Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare 2025 Symposium hosted at Northwestern Memorial Hospital on September 19.

Symposium Highlights
Sanjiv J. Shah, MD, shared how AI is revolutionizing how heart diseases are diagnosed at Northwestern Medicine.
  • With the help of AI, the team can diagnose heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and cardiac amyloidosis earlier, leading to earlier treatment for better outcomes.
  • Automated AI analysis of EKGs and echocardiograms is transforming the diagnostic process for both common and rare diseases that are underrecognized and associated with high mortality rates.

Adrienne S. Kline, MD, PhD, gave a presentation titled “From Data to Decisions: Imbuing AI with Clinical Decision-Making Capabilities.”
