Nigerian Woman Travels to Northwestern Medicine for EVOQUE ProcedureOne of the 100 transcatheter tricuspid valve replacements done by Northwestern Medicine cardiologists Charles J. Davidson, MD, Laura J. Davidson, MD, Jyothy J. Puthumana, MD, and Akhil Narang, MD, and S. Chris Malaisrie, MD, was performed on 94-year-old Funke Gbaja. Funke, a retired nurse, traveled more than 6,000 miles from Lagos, Nigeria, to Northwestern Medicine for this leading-edge procedure.
